The Stratvos Group gave a great class about the processes and tips pertaining to jail calls, controlled calls with confidential informants, and T-3 wire taps. It was a great insight as to how a wire tap can have the potential to completely shift your investigation to bigger targets while still catching lower level targets. The class was excellently structured and engaging. I am looking forward to attending many more!
With 15 years of law enforcement experience, including uniform patrol, narcotics, traffic enforcement, and even administration, I can’t say enough about the training provided by the Stratvos Group.
Their training is based on real world experience and knowledge from the streets and actual cases that resulted in convictions and new case law.
The Mastering the Pretext Stop class online was GREAT! Whether you’re brand new and still learning the way or an old salty veteran refreshing your skills, that class is a must.
I really enjoy taking this law enforcement course because it directly connects to the work I do every day. During the course, we covered topics like jail calls and wiretaps, which gave me a better understanding of how communication is monitored and analyzed in investigations. Since I primarily work with jail calls, being able to listen to real audio examples and learn new key terms—especially those related to drug activity—has been incredibly useful. This knowledge will help me recognize coded language and improve the accuracy of my work in the future.
I am a CPT with the LA National Guard’s Counterdrug program and attended the course on jail calls and wire taps instructed yesterday, October 15th. I wanted to share my positive feedback with you and Stratvos. The course was a great resource to understand how and when jail calls and wire taps can be used in investigations to significant effect. Currently I do not utilize jail calls at the office I support as an analyst, but I am seeking to gain that capability following your course. I know a few of my colleagues at other offices often help their agencies by utilizing jail calls. The case study used in the course did a great job of making it obvious that the time invested in listening to calls, and applying the best practices taught, can provide invaluable evidence, or otherwise allow for the collection of actionable intelligence. As we all know, if an analyst cannot provide actionable intelligence to their agents, they are not doing their job. Overall, you and Mr. Webb were great instructors and the first hand experience shared regarding the case study was definitely value added for us attending.
The Power of the Call class was well formatted. The instructors had a wealth of experience and knowledge of their cases and the information presented. The space was great for the course. I learned proper TTPs during and what is needed before requesting a Tier 3. The snippets of the actual calls were great to hear, as they put everything into perspective.
-Investigative Case Analyst
Today I attended the course with other National Guard Counterdrug Analyst. I enjoyed the course and loved that the instructors made everything tie in together. The material we learned was both entertaining and informative. I currently work at the Crime Strategies Unit and I am often assigned inmates for the jail calls. A ton of information can be obtained, the instructors emphasized how important it was to listen to all calls and to take detailed notes.
After attending the two day training for Fundamentals of Narcotics Investigations hosted by Stratvos, I can say that I am much more confident in my ability to extend narcotics investigations beyond just a traffic stop. I was shown real world examples of how these investigative techniques were used and the way I could properly apply them. The course taught me how to better understand Louisiana drug law and the complexities inside the law that every narcotics officer should know. I learned how to build a quality case from start to finish and overall, this course took my police work to the next level.
This class was an incredible learning experience. I gained valuable knowledge on how to navigate and start my own cases, and the instructors provided real-life scenarios that made everything practical and applicable. They didn’t just teach the legal aspects of executing a search warrant; they also explained the importance of writing an accurate affidavit and the serious risks that come with even small mistakes some of which can escalate to federal court.
What stood out most was their honesty. They shared their own experiences and the mistakes they made throughout their careers, giving us insights on how to protect ourselves legally and professionally. It wasn’t just theory, they combined legal knowledge with real-world lessons, making the training both eye-opening and down-to-earth. I’m excited to take more of their classes in the future.
