About
The Narcotics Investigator Certification Course is a comprehensive, 40-hour training designed to take officers from foundational drug enforcement principles to the execution of complex, high-risk investigations. Built from four integrated courses (Fundamentals, Advanced, Intro to UC Ops, and CI Operations), this certification provides a structured progression through the realities of modern narcotics work — from initiating street-level cases to managing confidential informants, conducting undercover operations, and building long-term investigations that dismantle trafficking organizations. This is not theory-based training. Every module is grounded in real-world operations, case law, and practical application. Officers will learn how to build cases that hold up in court, reduce operational risk, and produce meaningful results in the field. Participants will gain a complete operational framework for narcotics investigations, including: -How to initiate and build prosecutable drug cases from the ground up -Constitutional search and seizure principles specific to narcotics enforcement -Proper documentation and articulation to withstand courtroom scrutiny -Confidential informant (CI) management, documentation, and liability control -Undercover (UC) operational planning and execution -Risk mitigation strategies for high-liability investigations -Techniques for short-term, mid-level, and long-term investigations -Integration of surveillance and technical tools (GPS, pings, pole cameras) -Strategies for targeting and dismantling drug trafficking organizations -Use of asset forfeiture to disrupt criminal infrastructure ** Passing score required on final examination.
